CUMIVERSITY (2018-2022)
Work for a reading hall, three acrobats, double bass, harmonium, and deforming worlds – familiarly known as Cumiversity – is a contemporary circus performance where live music plays an essential role. Three rearranged pieces composed by Pekka Huttunen, one of the two court composers of Company New World (CNW). They have been taken from previous
works Daytime Dance R18 (2008), The Following World (2009-2010) and Globally Wanted (2011-2017). Other elements of the show consist of wordless theater, acrobatics and parkour.
The work was originally produced for the reading hall designed by Alvar Aalto in the main building of the University of Jyväskylä, initially presented as a subscribed work for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Jyväskylä University Foundation in 2018.
The performances have been realized in cooperation with the University
of Jyväskylä.

KYTKIN(2021)

On the Kytkin route you are a visitor in the sphere of light and outside of time. Kytkin is a holistic work of art where light, sound and mute operators of electricity create an atmosphere of high tension.
At the same time it is a tribute to a very special space: the multi-artistic work is tailor-made for the historic switch building which is one of the last places left untouched in the area.
Kytkin had its world premiere and its only performances at Valon Kaupunki 2021 festival.
The work was commissioned by Kankaan Palvelu Oy.

Suodervissit, Suolonnit (2020, 2021)
Suodervissit, Suostalaulajat and Suolonnit were Company Uusi Maailma perfomances at the Suo Soikoon! -festival in Karvia.
Kauhanevan Suolonni is the rarest animal species in the world. Suolonnis faced a blatant extinction recently and there are only four living ones left. Suolonnis are based on an ancient human acrobaty tribe, which is why in their gentle day to day life they form into peculiar arrangements. In 2021 the tribe face eternal extinction and in their place was taken by a meditative and ritualistic Suosta Suohon quartet.

HAZMAT HOLE (2020, 2019)

Hazmat Hole is a short, interdisciplinary contemporary live art performance. It was performed in Galleria Hoppa, Jyväskylä, from 16 May til 29 May.
One spectator at a time. 64 show-times. 64 different experiences.
Hazmat Hole is a hybrid of Escape Room -logic, self-made labyrinth and spatial installation. It’s a adventurous. mystical and highly intimate mental and concrete route that each spectator experiences alone through the perfomance space.
The main performers are a close-up ballet dancer(Saga Elgland) and a light piece “Metempsychosis”(Jere Suontausta), combined with visual elements, video, music and sonic art. The spectator and the live performer get unusually close to one another, while remaining equally far apart, due to the plastic walls between them.
The aspects of hygience and distancing have been taken into account while planning this performance during COVID-19 pandemic. These requirements are also entwined in the visual, artistic and technical aspects of the performance.

KRYPTA (2019)
KRYPTA is a multi-artistic stage work, it is the main project for
Company New World in the year 2019 and an unprecedented and a never
previously experienced world premiere. Until 2014 known as Circus New
World, Company New World was already the pioneer in the field of
contemporary circus. Today, CNW uses the various art genres as equal
elements, as a holistic raiser of expectations on the scene – the
dramaturgy of the tones.
KRYPTA is a Tamperensis existentialist visual radio play. It’s a
Saturday night pleasantry, which can also be experienced on Monday – and
Monday morning anxiety, which can also be experienced on Saturday.
KRYPTA is a landscape exhibition of mind consisting of light, music,
text and movement.
KRYPTA contains, among other things, the delicate Taiji-Vogue-Kungfu
dance, the dramatic Jarre spectacle, a red-white gymnastics living room
and a sweet blue-silver finale.
KRYPTA was born from the mutual warmth of Company New World Artistic
Director-director Seija Hakkarinen, lighting designer Jere Suontausta,
composer Jukka Kaikkonen and multiartist Henri Hiltunen, as well as from
a thirst to renew the New World expression and also a questing for the
otherworldly. The backbone of the perfomance is constituted by the 3D
spiral program of the KRYPTA Channel and the texts of Harry Salmenniemi,
which appear in the form of sermons, slogans, adages and announcements.
Movement artist Jilka Repo joins in as a new performer for CNW.
The KRYPTA engine is the multi-artistic diversity of the creators that
does not avoid the fusion of different genres or exploiting them. It can
be accepted as a cherishing experience of the senses for the demanding
artist as well as for a curious cultural consumer: “When you understand
to put your mind aside, the experience is strong, warm and indelible.”
KRYPTA was performed in Juomatehdas, Jyväskylä in may of 2019

CUM BOYS vol 4. – CHILDREN OF COSMOS (2018)
CUM BOYS vol. 4 – CHILDREN OF COSMOS on multi-cadencic powerfully visual stage work.
As a gliding waltz plays the dancing stars of CUM BOYS unwrap the Finno-underpantian mindscape. A meter wide disco ball continues its eternal path and the “boys” end up in multicosmotic dead ends and sensual joint realities.
The rhythm is composed by fusing together physical theatre, dance, acrobatics, music and light. The endless slide of life is greased with humor black as coal.
CUM BOYS 4 was performed in the student house Ilokivi, Jyväskylä as a part of Jyväskylän Kesä festival in july of 2018.

Rajatila – Borderline (2013)
– A Mixture Of Dystopia And Utopia –
Human breeding has reached fearful, yet sweet results. There are only six bunkeracrobats left in the universe – plus otherworlders… RAJATILA (BORDERLINE) is hot mixture of circus, dance and theatre spiced with the black humour and strong aesthetics of Company Uusi Maailma – this is rough and futuristic progressive circus!
RAJATILA (BORDERLINE) was performed in an old paper factory at June-September 2013 with 15 performances, premiered at Jyväskylä Arts Festival.

Kerrostalo – Block of Flats (2012)
Block of Flats is an open-minded fusion of acrobatics, parkour, music, light and dance. People running on walls, getting magnetized to eachother, whirling on tissues and celebrating life. Block of Flats breaths down your neck and you can feel its past on on your shoulders. What happened here before I was here? How will I react when the traces and sounds of a neighbouring life invade my territory? When and how understanding and acceptance come into existence?
The people in Block of Flats are drawn in-between waking and dreams. Sleep paralysis stalks the sleeper, a state where the mind is awake an a momentarily paralyzed body. Beautiful and delicate tones are haunted by anxious and nightmarish moods.
The music for Block of Flats is specially composed for the performance. The orchestra includes e.g. double bass, electric bass, percussion, violin, oboe and vocals. Musical influences come from different parts of the world and styles of music. Led by lopsided music reality gets distorted.
